SCIAC Male Athlete of the Week: Whittier's Anthony Pomponio

 Senior RB Anthony Pomponio posted his second straight 100-yard rushing game on September 27 in the Poets 38-20 loss at Menlo College.  Pomponio gained 144 yards on 16 carries for an average of nine yards per carry.  His 70-yard touchdown run gave Whittier a 13-9 lead in the first quarter.  He also had three receptions out of the backfield and three kickoff returns for 83 yards.  Pomponio leads the conference in rushing yards with 334 in two games.
