SCIAC Honors Athletes of Week: CMS'

The SCIAC Athletes of the Week have been named and the honorees are: CMS' Aaron Gonzales (Football) and La Verne's Jodi Lindsay (volleyball).
CMS: Aaron Gonzales, Football
The senior quarterback from Carpinteria led the Stags to a 34-10
win over visiting Kenyon College. He rushed for 141 yards and two
touchdowns on 17 carries (8.3/carry) including a career-long 40
yard run. He was 10 for 12 passing with one touchdown. He connected
with five different receivers for 102 yards. All five touchdown
drives were 65 or more yards including two drives over 80 yards.
ULV: Jodi Lindsay, Volleyball
A sophomore opposite from Alta Loma, Lindsay led La Verne in
hitting percentage, kills and blocks as the Leopards won three
matches in Oregon to remain unbeaten at 8-0. She hit .444 with 10
kills and 4 blocks in a 3-0 sweep over Lewis & Clark on Sept.
15. Lindsay followed that effort with 8 kills and 3 blocks in only
two games of a 3-0 win over Whitworth, and capped her week with 11
kills and 5 blocks in a 3-1 triumph over George Fox on Sept. 16. A
First Team All-SCIAC selection in 2005, Lindsay is hitting .422
with an average of 3.52 kills per game (both team-highs) while
ranking second on the! squad in blocks (1.43 a game) thus far this
season for the Leopards, who ranked #3 in the AVCA Top 25 Poll.
