LEOPARDS OPEN PLAY AGAINST #1 CHAPMAN IN WEST REGION ACTION

The University of La Verne baseball team will face top-ranked and top-seed Chapman University in the opening game of the NCAA Division III West Regional Wednesday at Walt Driggers Field on the campus of McMurry University in Abilene, TX.
The ULV-Chapman game is scheduled for 10 am PDT.

La Verne (25-14-1), is the #6 overall seed in the regional and is joined by #1 Chapman (35-3), #2 George Fox (28-12), #3 McMurry (29-17), #4 Cal State East Bay (26-14) and #5 Trinity (32-13).

La Verne earned an automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament by virtue of claiming its 19th SCIAC Championship in school history and the third in the last five seasons under head coach Scott Winterburn. The Leopards won their final eight games of the regular season to overtake Redlands and Pomona-Pitzer to win a tight three-team conference race.
