Winter Invite finishes fall competitionThe Claremont-Mudd-Scripps swim team posted two top-3 finishes in the final day of the Winter Invite at East Los Angeles College on Sunday afternoon. Freshman Claire Bacon-Brenes (SC) raced in the 200-yard breaststroke, placing second at 2:26.01 in the prelims on Sunday. Classmate Henry Limm (HMC) had the fastest time on the men?s side in the 200 breast at 2:07.32, more than six seconds faster than the next finisher.

Abdi and Skoll wrap up season with All-Region honorsSenior Mehron Abdi (CMC) and junior Jake Skoll (CMC) earned All-West Region honors from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America in the 2016 season. Both Abdi and Skoll were named to the Third Team and join nine other SCIAC honorees on the All-Region teams.
Full team effort in Sixth Street victoryIn the first installation of the Sixth Street Rivalry for the 2016-17 season, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Athenas came away with the 75-32 win over Pomona-Pitzer. Sixteen different CMS players put up points in the game that amounted to the 43-point victory.
Three Athenas named on All-West Region TeamSeniors Laynee Laube (CMC), Amy Johnson (CMC), and junior Jacey Coniff (HMC) earned a spot on the All-West Region Second Team after their outstanding performances during the regular and postseason. This marks the first time all three of these athletes earned this award.
Four Stags All-SCIAC after valiant playoff runAfter Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men?s water polo team came up just short in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships, four athletes earned All-Conference recognition from the SCIAC. Senior Ellison Taylor (CMC) and junior Noah Deer (CMC) were honored with First Team while seniors Rye Newman (CMC) and Alex Waggoner (CMC) captured Second Team nods.
