Volleyball Wraps up Washington (MO) Invitational
Benson earns all-tournament team honors
SAINT LOUIS, Mo. - The California Lutheran University volleyball team lost a pair of matches to Birmingham Southern (AL) and tournament host Washington (MO) University on Saturday. CLU setter Lindsey Benson was named to the 2008 All-Tournament Team.
Cal Lutheran was defeated by scores of 8-25, 21-25 and 14-25 to Birmingham Southern. The Regals took the No. 2 team in the country to four games following a game two victory but fell to WU 15-25, 25-23, 22-25 and 22-25.
CLU finished fourth out of the five team field with Washington University going undefeated and taking the tournament title.
Cal Lutheran (1-3) will begin an eight match homestand with a Wednesday doubleheader starting at 4 p.m. against San Diego Christian College. The Regals will then face The Master's College at 7:30 p.m.
