Women's Tennis Match Drops First Home SCIAC Match
Regals swept 9-0 by No. 12 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps
THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - The California Lutheran University women's tennis team was defeated 9-0 by No. 12 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges on Friday at the courts on campus. Kate Dehmer and Sam Aguinaldo were the only Regals to win a game in both of their singles matches.
Dehmer teamed up with Suz Nomura to put on the best doubles performance of the day. Taking four games in their 8-4 loss to CMS' Stephanie Hammond and Lisa Steckmest.
Nomura was the lone Regal to win two games in a singles set, which she did in her second set against Yassie Entekhabi in No. 1 singles. Entekhabi is ranked No. 19 nationally in women's singles among NCAA Division III schools.
Cal Lutheran (1-4, 0-2 SCIAC) heads to the University of La Verne on Saturday for another conference match scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Next weekend the Regals return home to face The Master’s College on Friday and a match-up with Caltech on Saturday.
