CLAREMONT, Calif. – The CLU women's water polo squad opened SCIAC play with a resounding 9-3 victory over the nation’s No. 1 team Pomona-Pitzer Colleges in Claremont on Saturday afternoon. Sophomore Joy Cyprian netted five goals in leading the Regals to victory.

The Regals played well on both sides of the ball as senior goalkeeper Katie Windsor made 13 saves in holding the Sagehens to three scores.

Three goals is a season best defensively for the Regals and as a team have allowed just 12 goals total in its last three games (3-0).

CLU’s Lauren Bridges added a pair of goals in the win.

Cal Lutheran (8-11, 1-0 SCIAC) will host the University of La Verne (6-7) on Tuesday afternoon at 5 p.m.
