Westmont Edges Cal Lutheran
Round two role reversal as Warriors avenge first meeting
THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – The Kingsmen tennis team suffered just its second loss of the season on Friday afternoon dropping a 6-3 road result to Westmont College. The Warriors avenged an earlier loss to Cal Lutheran after dropping the opening match-up by the same margin.
CLU swept the doubles during its opening day against Westmont but managed to take just one of three matches on Friday.
Kingsmen junior Forrest Hunt was the highest seeded singles player to earn a point defeateing Arthur Kalayjian in the No. 3 contests in three sets. Jordan Culpepper earned the other CLU singles victory with a straight sets win in the No. 6 match-up.
Cal Lutheran (5-2) will host a pair of matches on Saturday starting with the University of the South (TN) at 9:30 a.m. and conclude against Fresno Pacific University at 2 p.m.
