Hoffman to Serve as Interim Director of Athletics
Occidental College women's basketball coach takes next step

EAGLE ROCK, Calif. (August. 13, 2007) - As of July 1, 2007 Jaime Hoffman, Occidental College's Head Women's Basketball coach and Senior Woman's Administrator, took on the role of Interim Director of Athletics.

In just her third year in Eagle Rock, Hoffman has climbed the athletics ladder as she now finds herself leading the department. Boasting a successful background in the office, on the court and in the classroom, Hoffman is the right choice to lead Occidental Athletics during the 2007-08 academic year.

With over 10 years of experience working in intercollegiate athletics, Hoffman is knowledgeable and versed in numerous facets of the Athletics Department. She has spent time at a number of noteworthy institutions across the nation including Newbury College, Montclair State University and Regis College serving as the head women's basketball coach, a professor and an administrator with additional responsibilities.

Hoffman has changed the face of many of the programs she has been affiliated with, leading once struggling teams to successful seasons.  In addition to coaching basketball, she has also held stints as the Head Softball and Head Women's Tennis coach at the collegiate level. Beyond the court Hoffman has developed managerial skills. She has been responsible for delegating assignments to assistant coaches and planning, scouting and coordinating all aspects of intercollegiate athletic teams. Additionally she has worked extensively with budgeting.

Along with her coaching responsibilities Hoffman has had success in Marketing, Fundraising, Alumni Relations and coordinating, scheduling and enhancing Departmental operations.

During her time at the collegiate level she has served on a variety of committees and is part of a numerous organizations. She has gathered many ideas from this involvement and will bring that knowledge to her new role as Interim Director of Athletics.

Well spoken and a natural leader, Hoffman, has high expectations for the entire Department of Athletics saying, "The future of athletics at Oxy is bright."
